I was recently watching a Korean Drama. The young couple wanted to marry but most people were oppposed - particulary the man's grandmother. The woman becomes pregnant. Because of this, some of the family was urging Grandma to approve. She made a comment about a bride's veil and the baby being a boy. (The subtitlers did not translate the whole sentence). The other family said it was a superstition. Does anyone know what the superstition is?

The subtitles on Korean movies are very poorly done. And on TV dramas it's even worse. I think there must have been some mistake with the translation. I work in Korea and we have Korean, Chinese, Japanese and people from Singapore as teachers here. They don't know what the superstition is you talk about. And they were not even sure if there are any superstitions with regards to marriage, birth and pregnancy.

I'm a language practitioner and the poor translations really bother me a lot. So, I'm gonna put my money on that.

Yes i know, that seems like a little tradition, but usually improper belief, couz those traditions not depend on any scholarly trues, only are believed, not interrogated by onyone. Everybody respect those endless even if not be right.
