A HSG, hysterosalpingogram is an xray of your uterus and fallopian tubes. The area is watched via monitor while a dye is inserted through your cervix. Watching the dye spill into your uterus and tubes can help drs see if there is any blockage that sperm might encounter. It's a very informative test...and patients generally feel mild to moderate cramping during it.

I've had this test done. It checks for blockages in your fallopian tubes. I found it very uncomfortable and would recommend you take Motrin prior to the test. The test was normal but I'm still not pregnant so I don't know how helpful it was.
