Hi,
I don't use chemicals to repel anything. Well, I might use Mace in a dark alley.
If I have an ant problem, instead of spraying, which eventually the ants morph, into a poison resistant state, I find a special place, near where they are entering, and they like Honey. They have to be careful or they will get stuck, so make sure they have space to get to it. Why kill, why not communicate?
I refused the Termite Extermination on the home where I presently reside. It is my work platform, and I can't imagine myself, or my Alzheimer's Patient , coming into contact with an Amino Acid Blocker, which is what was offered as a means of control.
Amino Acids are what we humans need to synthesize a complete Protein. I don't want to kick the bucket with the Termites.
Maybe if you rinse down your kitchen with a product that contains Citronella, it will repel the ANTZ. It is a naturally occuring plant extract. Most stores have it, in the cleaning section. I just can't remember the name. Also, mosquitos don't like Citronella.
Don't get ants, in your pants......
My ants preferred Wild Flower Honey. (Just kidding)

It's that time of year..... One quick fix is to pour cayenne pepper along the window sills and door jambs and into any crevices that you are aware of. Behind and under counters also a big must. In any closets also. Boric acid also works as well. Be careful if you have small children for either. Also get those RAID ant traps and place about a dozen of them in the most secluded areas. Under the refrig and sink, in the corners of the room, etc.... if these don';t help call the exterminator.... you might be infested with carpenter ants..... good luck!

Check to see of there are any small cracks or holes on the outside of your house in the vicinity of your kitchen and plug them by caulking or spray insulation. They are probably in the walls. Take everything out of your cupboards and clean them thoroughly with bleach and water. Cereal, oatmeal spices, coffee, etc. should all be kept in containers with tight fitting lids. If there is accessable food the ants are going to stay. You have to take away there food source. Lemon juice squirted along the back of your cupboards and along the baseboards will help in getting rid of them. An added bonus of using lemon juice is it's safe to use in the kitchen, smells nice but the ants hate it. You can also use cinnamon, peppermint or bay leaves.
You can also soak cotton balls in a paste made with boric acid, sugar or honey. Let dry and place in areas where you have ants.
Make a paste consisting of 1/3 cup of molasses, 6 tbsp. of sugar and 6 tbsp. of active dry yeast. spread on strips of cardboard and place near crevices or where there are ants.

To get rig of the ants naturally, use Turmeric ..... mix turmeric with water ..... make a paste and draw a line around all the edges of the kitchen especially the basin , window , door , ventillation area or any cracks you think could let the ants in ....
although it leaves a yellow line around but it gets rid of the ants....

Whenever you see a trail of ants, you've got to clean up the entire trail with soapy water. This prevents them from following the trail again.
Also, you can place dried bay leaves in areas where there are ants. Bay leaves repel ants. Just make sure you don't put them where a pet or small child can pick them up and eat them.

Raid sell little plastic things that hold poison that the ants carry back to the nest with them as food - the ants then eat it and the whole colony dies. They seem to work!

I had the same problem in my hall. I put a small strip of stick fly paper across the door sill on the floor and they did not cross it.. Dont know where they went to either but they dont come in any more.. Saved me searching for them in the garen or putting posion down as I dont much care if they are out there. They do a great job of cleaning the garden of nasty things for me so They are welcome as long as they stay out.. The paper is really cheap its worth a try. Good luck.

you need to get stuff called nipon which is a powder. u need to go round the edge of your kitchen floor and edge of your work tops at night leave over night then sweep away. I also go round the outside perimeter of my house. Dont leave any food out or jars loosely unscrewed. I have this trouble every year. they will eventually go.
Nipon is sold in UK i don't know what other countries they sell it in. Definitely not Spain.
