leuroth. You lose points when you ask questions. When you answer questions you get 2 points. When you vote on a question you get 1 point. when you rate an answer you get 1 point. You never gain by just asking questions. It takes 5 points and when you choose your best response, you get 3 back. The only way you can build points is to answer the questions, or be chosen as best answer. A well thought out answer will give you 10 points back.
Dude, just checked your stats, you are doing great. You already answer questions, you just haven't been chosen best for a lot of them. (You're havin' too much fun with this)

Information is an actual quantity, a thing that must be hauled around like a sack of coins. Every time you enter Yahoo-answers the sack of coins becomes larger or smaller, depending upon whether you are receiving information or dispensing it. The points system is meaningless, unless the game is played for all that it is truly worth.

You lose 5 points when you ask a question. That is the price you pay for asking a question.

when you ask a question, you lose 5 points. when you answer one, you get 2 points. when you choose a best answer, you get 3 of your points back. when you get chosen as a best answer, you get ten points, when you get voted on as a best answer, you get one point.

do more to get points, and only ask questions you really want answered.

why are you so obsessed about points.. they don't do anything.
You can't buy anything with them.
Not even respect.

If anything, there's an inverse relationship between points and prestige.

"How did you get so many points oh Level 7 demi-GOD?"
"I was really bored, and apparently I know alot about Hair and Nails."

Glory in your "pointlessness!" haha.
