I know the stars are for the number of World Cups they've won. I want to know the origin of the different crosses.

Brazil was not discovered by Vasco da Gama... Pedro Alvares Cabral did it, at April 22 of 1500.... I'm braziliam, but I never heard about that cross...

It's nothing to do with the individual players religion. The Brazilian national team uses that logo since 1917 (an earlier style of the same)

I think it's because most of the team have a fairly religious background - check out last world cup with the prayers etc.
