in the us, the deepest is crater lake (oregon), but it sounds like youre describing lake tahoe (california/nevada)

Lake Baikal in Siberian Russia (formerly USSR). It is 400 miles long. 336 rivers empty into it and only one flows out. At its deepest it is over a mile deep. This is all fresh water.

I haven't been there, exactly, but I've flown over it and looked at it. There's nothing like it anywhere else in the world.

I'm not sure, but it sounds like Lake Tahoe to me.
