Research has shown that children who are at least 2 1/2 to 3 years apart in age are the healthiest because your body has a chance to replenish its stores of iron (among other things). But if you really want your children closer together than that, then go ahead. You are a better judge of what is best for you!!

My two boys are 14 months apart.
I just want to let you know it is not easy. I don't know how old you are but I was in my early 30's when I had the first. There is a lot of strain on the body, however, I only worried about losing the weight after the second! The second child was a huge surprise - my cycle had gone back to normal....or so I thought.

On the bright side, the two do play very well together most of the time and since they are boys, I get a lot more 'wear' out of their clothes. Diapers lasted for three years but once done, I was done.

I would finish by saying, if you think you can handle it, good luck to you. If you are having sleep problems, depression, or anything else, the second one will magnify them.

I am speaking from experience here...I have a 9 month old and a 20 month old...It is very difficult...just going outside to play takes the planning of a level 3 summit meeting...The older one can't walk when we go anywhere hates the stroller and baby has to ride the cart...2 carseats..INFINITE number of diapers to change daily..The first 3 months were a nightmare..between the sleeplessness and the naps and the meals that still had to be made there was laundry and baths shopping and TIME for me was no where in sight...Just remember how the first few months were and how fun she is now...WAIT and enjoy her for now There is no one on one time with two...

I really think that it depends on your age. If you are an older Mom, like over 35, than I don't think you should wait because your window of oppurtunity is getting shorter, but I know the older you get the harder it is on your body. If you think that you are healthy and your body can handle it, I think you should go for it! My brother and I are really close in age and we loved the fact of always having someone our age around. We were and still are really good friends and I think that it is because we our so close in age.If you are really young and just starting out- what is the rush? If you have more than one right now, you won't be able to enjoy your daughter as much because you will have to split your time in half.

Well not physically at least I wouldn't think and depends if you had easy or complications with last birth but your Pediatrician can best advise on that. It also depends if you want the children this close together for you know the 24hr attenion that a baby requires by experience and if you can handle taking care of 2 then fine .

When ever you think the time is right. My son was 7 months when I found out I was pregnant again. I feel like it's easier when they are close in age. If you think you are ready then go for it.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Yes. Wait at least 3-5 years. If you're trying for another then you need to re-examine your relationship with your partner. What's missing that you think you need to fill?

YES. Every doctor will tell you that your body NEEDS to wait a year before you become pregnant again. It is just too much strain for you physically.
