This is for the people who have gone and seen the new Superman Returns movie. What did you think of it? I saw it on Sunday and I think it was a waste of money to watch. The story was awful, the plot worse, and to give superman a child was an step even the creators wouldn't take. If I could demand a refund from the theater, I would, but it isn't their fault that Hollywood created yet another crap title.

A perfect film for geeky Smallville fanboys, but for film junkies like myself and admirer of the original film...it sucked. I thought Brandon was okay as Superman, but he was practically a mute in the whole film. It just wants me to cry out for Christopher Reeve. I miss the guy.

Anyway, Spacey's portrayal of Lex has potential if the writing was better. His plan to create a land mass in the Atlantic Ocean...LAME. Who the f%$ would want to live there??? Luther's plan in the original film was much more clever and made more sense.

Lois Lane...cute, but LAME. She looks more like a secretary than a pulitzer-winning news reporter. Bad casting. And what's with her son? How in the world are they going to incorporate his story & character in the next Superman film? I think it was too early to reveal that Superman has a son. DUMB.

I loved how they brought back the Superman March theme. But the music score by Ottman didn't deliver that much of an emotional punch. It was average music.

All in all, the movie had some great action stuff, but it left me feeling empty and very disappointed. My grade: C

Brandon Routh played a great Superman and reminded me a lot of Christopher Reeves

Kevin Spacey played a better Lex Luthor than Gene Hackman.

Kate Bosworth was not a very good Lois Lane I thought Margot Kidder played her better.

all in all I thought the movie was very good. I thought Kevin played Lex much more ruthless like he is in the comic books.

As a lifelong fan, I really enjoyed the movie. I believe that Bryan Singer did an excellent job of updating the Superman Mythos.

You pretty much stated the exact same issues I take with pretty much every comic book turned LIVE-action film.

They (Hollywood) don't respect the fans who made those characters popular, and end up making crappy movies that change so much of the character(s) it's almost unrecognizable.

*** I didn't think it was THAT bad, but why were his cape and boots burgendy-brown... They were always red in the movies and comic books. I also thought it silly that he was just "away" for 5 years.

The special effects were pretty good, though, they did things in this movie that they never could before (i.e. bullet in the eye)
