I'm male, forty, and have just lost about twelve pounds in three weeks, and it takes commitment. I bought a sit-up bench, as I need to support my back, which has problems. I have got gently back into my running, which I'm really enjoying, and have banned chocolate and other junk, and am eating a lot more fruit and vegetables. Drinking at least 2 litres of mineral water a day, the running is broken every half-mile with push-ups or sit-ups or stretches, and I take 2 multivitamin/mineral supplements a day. I feel great, my 32" waist trousers fit again, and I feel like there's more to be lost. Every time I feel like binging on pizza or carbs, I reach for grapes, cherries, apples, carrots, Kiwi-fruit.
Enjoy!

Age is against us after 30 so it is harder to tone up some areas. I don't know why you are embarassed- none of us are perfect & some of us have to work harder at looking after our bodies than others.

If it is just your abdomen then try crunches, sit ups or/& swimming.

You don't need to do many sit ups a day to start noticing a different (30-40). Make sure you do a little shake out/warm up before exercising otherwise you might pull a muscle or strain something.

Diet is obviously important too & drink lots of water.

Good luck

:-)

The best thing is to cut out all bread and potato products and maybe try an atkins style diet if you like meat. You will notice the difference in around 2 weeks or so. Thats where most of my weight lies and it worked a treat for me.

(Slightly pudgy 30 something)

Hi, if this area is where you first put weight on then it will be the last place you lose it from. A good diet and exercise will work but don't be impatient, a couple of pound a week. DON'T AVOID MEALS.

Your posture can help. stand up strait. Every time you look down at your belly it will roll up. Stand tall and be proud. Good luck

Cardio vascular excersies, jogging is the best way, too many sit ups will leave you with a six pack, I made this mistake! Remember to hold you tummy in as you run, and giving up alchohol and over processsed foods, like whit bread helps, and no carbs after 4pm!

Cut wheat from your diet this reduces bloating. Then unfortunately you need to hit the sit ups

you would need to do cardiovascular exercises to burn the fat
(swimming is good as it's low impact on the joints.) you also need to do sit ups to target the problem area.
