spaying and neutering is actually healthier for the animal as it reduces the risk of cancer and tumors. The animal population is ridiculous, so many people try to rescue a couple here and there, plus all the rescues and there are still many starving, injured animals roaming around. Also, random breeding can cause birth problems for the mother and the litter.

I think that spaying and neuturing is something we shouldn't have to do but it's also something the we do have to do.
We have created a surplus of animals because of many things we have done. First we domesticated them, not trying to be really critical but we did that and so took away their natural instincts and such things as natural selection. Sometimes the runt of the litter wouldn't make it in the wild, that's life, animals eat other animals. But in our world the runt of the litter is the one coed over, and lives, maybe even gets bred.
What I absolutely HATE is dog or cat breeders, yeah some people like purebreds, the people who are too rich and snotty to notice all the beuatiful mutts that are being put down daily. Hate to break it to you but I have never met a smart pure bred, mutts, they're brilliant.
So unfortunately we have created this problem for ourselves, we have ruined the animals natural way of life and have continued to breed an already over bred population, so the only fix we can come up with is spaying and neutering. Unfortunately enough animals don't get that tortorous fix so the need continues.
Adopt an animal form a shelter, don't boycoot kill shelters, though the idea is dispicable as I've said the population is huge and so it's better to save a dog from a kill shelter where it's life is in danger then a non-kill where you know even if it stays there for longer it will still be alive. And please, DON"T buy from breeders, those dogs are worth too much to put down so you know they will live and the majority have very nice lives.

Spaying and neutering is DEFINITELY right. Not only does it help with the overpopulation of pets, but there are actually quite a few health benefits (for example: females are more likely to have mammory tumors if they are not spayed and males are more likely to have prostate problems if they aren't neutered) as well as behavior benefits (dogs don't stray when they are feeling "randy").

If you don't think there is a pet overpopulation problem, just visit your local animal shelter and the next town's animal shelter. I bet they are both full.

If you feel the urge to show your kids the "miracle of life" by showing them puppies being born, go to a reputable breeder and ask if they can watch there.

There are WAY too many irresponsible people that let their dogs get pregnant or impregnate others. Those dogs end up in shelters. Even the puppies.

Well - animals do have a right to humane treatment, but look at the world. It's obvious in nature humans were designed to not be animals, and to be in charge of them. You can't say it's cruel to spay an animal just because you are the human without saying it's cruel for a bear to eat a fish. Sometimes I wonder, maybe they are smarter... the animals themselves understand population control. Spaying and neutering is an excellent idea. Just look at feral cats. Not exactly healthy or happy! All three of my cats are spayed/neutered... they're fine! And for my benefit, I don't listen to females howling when they're in heat, I don't worry about my male catching a disease or being killed while off chasing females. Our cats are the image of healthiness and happiness. And the example of HUMANE population control.
(also, killing can be humane - you don't even have to kill to control population - duh!)

I love animals, i really do, but they are growing way over the population should be. Hundreds of thousands of millions of dogs die every year, spaying and neutering is RIGHT, unless your going to breed, put keep the dogs locked up. I really don't think there is any need off breeding, there is to many dogs know. Diffrent people have diffrent opions.
I think its right.

It is right because with too many animals, the world would be overrun. The animals are healthier and they live longer lives if they are Spayed or neutered

Yes I think that spaying and nurturing should be for every person. That does not have good animals because there are so many ppl that cant afford it and others that just don't care enough for there pets to do this kinda of thing. We fixed all of our dogs except my AKC Dobermans and my ADBA Pit bull and my AKC shizue because thy are part of a breeding program used to better the breed. but I do not breed every year because there are allot of ppl that think that thy are so cute and every one wont's a cute puppy most everyone does not realize that these baby's do grow up very fast and become unwonted so. Hope this has answered your Question if not please fill free to go to your Local Pound and see all the unwanted pets that has no home do to over population of stupid breeders and people that can not afford to get there pets fixed.

I think spaying and neutering animals is right and a very good idea. All my animals are spayed and neutered.

I think spaying and neutering is right. If your pet isn't spayed or neutered, it could become pregnent (or cause a pregnancy) and it can be hard for those babies to get good homes. Then you have a lot more pets that don't have good homes.

Spaying and neutering pets is essential, people are irresponsible. All of my pets are fixed, and I am also having my rabbits fixed. Animals that are fixed live happier, healthier and longer lives than animals who are not fixed.
