I just had it installed, and I have taken several bandwidth tests informing me that my internet is about 4 times slower than its advertised 6mbps. Anyone have any tips on how to fix this?

Call 1-800-COMCAST. We had trouble installing, and their free help number was tons of help.

The speed also depends on the server's speed and the connections in between so 6Mbps is a max quote and comcast now has the 12Mbps turbo so ask for that too 1-800-comcast.

How are you speed testing? You could be trying to send/recieve from a server across seas! Go to www.speakeasy.net select speed test in lower right corner of page, select a server that is closest to your location. Hopefully you see close to the speed you are provisioned for. If not run anti-spyware, scan for viruses, delete browser cache/cookies. Still no dice, call comcast and have them ping modem & check signal levels. They will be able to determine (if you reach somone competent) what might be causing the issue.

Bandwidth Internet Server must be down. Call your supplier for check up or your IP address must be misplace or lost or in a wrong palce. We got the same problem and it was with IP Address. Check one of the above mention options.
