I wanted to know if i am alright because i took a firecracker, lit it about foot above my face, and it exploded too quickly to run, and after it exploded, my ears felt like cotton balls were between them, and then 4 secs later, i could hear again. i didnt hear any ringing or nothingin my ears, but i just want to know if i am alright.

1. Don't do this again. :)
2. Check your fine hearing in each ear. Rub your fingers lightly close to each ear. Can you hear?
3. Is there any discharge from your ears? If there is any discharge (I'm not talking about ear wax) then I would recommend going to the ER.
4. Since you had sense enough to log on to a PC and type a message my guess is that your mental status is fine. ;)

You are alright. The Cotton Balls are your brain. It seems apparent that instead of being born with a normal brain, you were born with a 1.2 pound cotton ball instead. The good news is that cotton balls are very absorbent, so you can accumulate some good stuff in there.

It all depends upon the intensity of the explosion and its always better to consult a specialist in case you suspect any abnormality or concern.Because prevention is better than cure the earlier the Intervention the best it will be to your body.its no harm in consulting a specialist because it helps. Moreover Hearing s one of the primary senses and so do seek medical help.Lets hope that there is no problem,My prayers are with you and never ever play with the crackers again...With regards,Madee...

Yeah should be fine. But possibly further down the road you might not be. I use to shoot weapons w/o ear protection now I wear two hearing aides. Good luck

You will be fine. Loud music through a headset will do more damage then a one time firecracker.

If you don't hear ringing or anything like that you'll probably be fine, but if you do start to hear buzzing or ringing, better get it checked out.

Yes you will be OK. But when you lose a finger you'll be sorry for the rest of your life.
