If you have never been before, probably two to get to everything, since you're going to want to go slow, take in all the scenery, get pictures, see the characters if you have kids, etc.
One day probably would not be enough to do all of the rides, and even then you would be rushed.
If by 'The Magic Kingdom' you meant all of Disneyworld and not just that specific park, a week would be more appropriate. All of Disney can be done in a few days by an experienced park-goer who has been before, but significantly more time is needed for a first-timer.
Above all things, you don't want to rush yourself through it. You're on vacation, after all.

1 full day is the average for Magic Kingdom from just after opening to closing. Make sure you pick-up a park map at the entrance to plan out your day more efficiently and dont forget the Fastpass system for rides that with the longest lines. The only exception ton 1 day is if you arrive late or the park closes early, then you might need a 2nd day to finish enjoying the park.

Anyone that says they saw everything in a Disney Park in one day, doesn't know everything they missed.!
When I go, I usually go for 5-10 days. I spend AT LEAST one day per park- and I don't get to see everything I want- and I go EVERY year.
The things is not to hurry through the park. You will not see everything, so take your time and enjoy the things you do see! Some of the best memories end up being something you "stumbe upon". There are lots of impromptu performances and shows. Just make sure to stay for the fireworks shows! Magic Kingdom and Epcot are the best!

Just the Magic Kingdom Park will take one to two days. Depending on how long you stay at the park (open to close, or just most of the day) and what attractions you're going to be riding (if you have children, it'll take longer because you'll be going on many kiddie rides and stopping to visit all the characters.) To do every attraction and see every show, I'd say it'd take about two full days. On my last trip we were only there about 8 hours, or so. It was so hot, we had to cool down in our air conditioned room at the Polynesian Resort. And 8 hours definitely wasn't long enough. We didn't do half the rides and we didn't see any shows or parades.

it depends on how thorough you intend to be. if you have small children or senior citizens with you, you will obviously move slower and see less per day. you can see MOST of the park in 1 day. that is, if you move at a steady pace. if you want to really take your time and see EVERYTHING... 2 to 2 1/2 days would probably do it. I've been there 5 or 6 times in my life, and the only time we spent 2 days there was when we were with my 5yr old niece. i am referring to just the Magic Kingdom park... not all 4 parks of Disney World.

You can enjoy the Magic Kingdom or any of Disney's theme parks in one day. So if you'd like to visit all 4 Disney parks, plan for 4 days, 1 day at each park. If you have a few more days to spare, squeeze in a day at any of the 2 Disney Water Parks (Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon).

It depends on the time of year you will going. If you go during the off season, you should get to most everything in one day. If you are going during peak seasons 2 or 3 days may be needed.
If you have children, it may take a little longer to see everything and it will likely be their favorite park, so you may go back a few times.
I would say one or two days would be plenty.
