I think Basten was A little bit Of Fault But Not Full
He omitted big Names Such As Davids Of Tottenham
Huntelaar Of Ajax who got 33 goals in the season , Seedorf the Midfielder Of Ac Milan And Makaay Of Bayern Who Is A Good Striker and also Had German Experience A He plays for A german club.

they could have Used attack Of Makaay And Huntelaar
And Seedorf And Davids would Have come Damn handy

Holland lost Also Because Of the No teamwork And many inexperienced players .

I don't think so.
I'm not from Holland, but I was keeping a close eye on them since they could be our opponents in the semis.

Van Basten is a good coach and has a vision, he is trying to follow that and when he got the team, he was very clear he wasn't building it for the 2006 WC, but the 2008 EURO, and the 2010 WC.
He didn't put the big names because he wanted to give experience to his young team, he wants to work them so they get to be a true power when the tournament comes.

He was calm in the game with Portugal because he was only testing his group, he wanted to see how they would do on such a hard game, and which players have personality problems (very very important when making a team of new players). If they won great, one more test, if they lose he can use their flaws to improve the team.

He has a vision, you respect it or not he will follow it till the end, I personally think it will pay off in the future. Honestly, all those big names didn't helped Holland get any title so far, he is trying to build up his squad from scratch, so he can have a young, quick, talented and experienced team. He was a great player wasn't he? I'm sure he can tell those kids how to be big.

Older players have habits that are hard to get rid of, younger players will play as the coach tell them to, because they know they lack experience.

Remember that Holland didn't even get into the World Cup in 2002. And in '98 they didn't get out of group play. So van Basten has done a much better job than some of his predecessors. The Dutch fans should be praising him.

He is a very good and honest soccer player and trainer in the world. He gave a tactic and free the players of Holland in the field. They played very well, but it was insufficient to win,so it is not his fault. Maybe his watching the match with no operation and effect on the match can be his fault and he should have say a word to his players for motivating.

Though I think he made a mistake not to put Van Nistelrooy in, he isn't personally responsible for how the team plays. And the Netherlands did play well, they just weren't lucky. And in these games a little luck goes a long way.

kinda. of course all those players mentioned that he left out. also i thought he used negative tactics against portugal. fouling ronaldo repeatedly until he couldnt stand anymore. robben and kuyt constantly diving. if holland played to their strengths maybe they could have won that game.
