what i liked i still have an appreciation for, because i liked it and connected with it then and don't now. my taste has matured and gotten better with age and experiences. my music taste alters a little more when i'm depressed, anxious, or have to do something etc...
i listen to Pink Floyd ALL of the time though...regardless of mood, its a MUST HAVE.

It changed drastically.
When I was younger I never had time to listen to music, what with school and studies and cartoons. And regardless of that fact, all songs were about feelings, my heart was never broken so those songs seemed weird to me. I was never eupheric so those happy-go-lucky pop & country & techno songs were just uncalled for. I was never depressed, so those sad songs had no meaning (lol).
Now that i'm a bit older, when I'm in a bad mood, i put on some sad country or rock or pop songs. When I'm studying i put on some slow soothing songs. When I'm dancing, it's pop and rap, and a little bit of techno. To each mood it's own. My playlists are even in order by mood (lol). As for specific type of genre, all go well, it's the lyrics that really matter.

Nope, not mine. I have lived and breathed hip hop since I was old enough to understand what it was, therefore i have always listened to rap. And while I am here, I need to pick on the fake hip hoppers. Anyone who says that they listen to hip hop, is a poser. Hip Hop is a culture, a movement, and the music of the Hip Hop culture is rap. I don't mean to call anyone out, but that is a pet peeve of mine. Most of those who "listen to hip hop" are suburban white kids who have never seen the other side of the fence and have absolutely no idea what the meaning of hip hop is.

It has changed in that my music tastes have broadened.
I still like old school music because it was just that and the
lyrics were real. I like some hip/hop rap. I also like blues, rand b, and classical.

Not really I sitll listen to the same things. I guess it has to do with having an older brother. He always wanted to listen to Rock. So that is what we listen to. I still today listen to Rock music. I never liked country songs when I was little I still don't like them now.

absolutely! Hate to admit it, but as a teen I used to like the boy bands but now I can't stand them, I think we are more open and accepting to other things as we get older (mature) therefore our tastes change and it can also be due to society's influence. Good question!

Yes, I used to like rap music and hard rock. When I grew up I found I more related to country music's values. I mostly listen to a.m. talk radio now anyway.

Definitely! I went from one genre to multi genre basically. I was raised on rock and now I'm into Christian/Gospel, Jazz, Blues, a little Country! I'm a lot older and (as far as music) wiser.
