An adult is someone who can handle their own affairs and think maturely and who has the ability to be polite and hospitable even to people who they disagree with. Someone who can debate without arguing when appropriate. Age is very much unimportant.

well, i dont really think people can tell an exact time when you are an adult!! prob. when you get mature enough to know that you are not a kid anymore. a lot of people that i know dont actually act like an adult until they have kids! i have a friend who is 18 and her daughter is gonna be 3 soon and she still hasnt grown up at all. even tho people say she has bc she has a kid!

It is NOT on your 18th birthday, though other kids may try and tell you it is. It's when you demonstrate to yourself and everybody else that you can be self-sufficient on your own. That means, meet your obligations over time, not just a month or two. Buy your own car insurance. Get yourself to the doctor when you need it. All of it. Then you are an adult your parents will be proud of and you will feel confident about the challenges of life.

that is a very interesting question. the onset of adulthood could be brought when the child hits puberty, or when the parents pass away and the child has to act as an adult. legally once an individual turn 18 they are considered an adult. i personally feel that each and everyone one of us is a child deep within

adult is someone that can tell you what he's about to do, not ask permission, someone who takes responsibility, someone who is old enough to face the consequences of his actions, but also, someone who can act like a child, even though they aren't... someone who pays the restaurant bill instead of waiting for dear ole' Dad to pick up the check, someone who has self control and knows how to kill spiders when the kids are watching in awe! and lastly adult is someone who will give their life for the freedom of their country! that may very well be a young adult!

biologically, at the end of puberty.....Legally, 21 yrs.....Emotionally, when you realize that you are responsible to deal with the results of your own actions, and to deal with the effects of other's actions on you & your emotions...
