Actually, I think I feel more patriotic...since dissent is a form of patriotism. I didn't pay much attention to politics until George and his cronies started f'ing with my rights - and ignoring the Constitution.

It should give us a reason to be patriotic...and take advantage of our right and power to change things....before those are gone too.

I am still patriotic. I love our country, but feel that some things should be different - just like everyone. As for corporations, that is part of what makes America great. Corporations represent capitalism and the concept that working hard will benefit you. I fear that the anti-corporation attitude that I see is leading some towards socialism. This is not a good direction to move towards.

The real problem is that the people have failed to be patriotic and take an active role in the affairs of their own government. They fail to vote, attend town meetings, write letters to their congressmen (or emails today). So they are bystanders while the affairs of the nation falls into the hands of big business, which then controls the government by default. The signers of the Declaration of Independence risked their lives to take a stand but now people only moan and groan about the poor quality of leadership and leave it to others to do the work. Corporations become corporations by people taking charge and doing things, not by letting the pressures of either competition or adversity sway them.

I love my country. Every single war there has been a member of my family in it since the early 1700's. I have a big problem with watching our freedom die. I do not know why everyone doesnt protest this! I can see how the corps are controlling everything for the rich and by the rich. What can we do about it? We all joke about being labelled a terrorist if we do not agree, when this is NO JOKE!!!!!! There really is a list.... of hardworking law abbiding tax paying citizens who protest the madness of our govt.
Many of my ancestors are native american. They understand not to trust the govt. Its out of control, and noone is stopping it. Impeach Bush and Cheney and take back our country!!!! Dont follow blindly into the darkness. (The young woman CIA agent found that out the hard way didnt she now shes dead cause she didnt agree with Bush so he declassified her and she was killed.)

I forget who it was but it was one of the founding fathers who said that it was a government of the people, for the people, by the people who participate.

I see this question a bit and I have to wonder if the people asking have ever been to a town hall meeting, actually wrote their Representatives, or been to political rallies. Our Representatives have an obligation to represent the people but the people have the responsibility to convey what they want. The politicians cannot call and ask all their constituents on every issue that arises.

I have written my Representatives a lot and I have actually seen results of what I have written. So I know that politicians listen, it is up to the people to speak.

You got that right. But Corporations must make tons of money so the rich can run their SUVs, and guzzle up all that petrol and kill tons of people in order to get it. (Funny how it's all intertwined, with Big Oil being, for a good part, in the land of Allah and his friends, the Saud family being of the Wahhabite persuasion (the most extremist sort of Islamism) and the most hypocritical of all. If they are "Believers", I think they are believers in the God of Money, like everybody else.

No it is not hard for me to feel patriotic, when I remember what America stands for, and the many men/women that have died and are dying in our military. I love our flag and I love America. It is the greatest country in the whole world...and I thank God that I was blessed to be born in this great country.

God bless America.

Home of the FREE, because of the BRAVE.....

Happy Birthday America....

No, because at least in the U.S. you can make your own corporation and turn it into something great; no similar opportunity exists anywhere else in the world.

Remember Henry Ford he paid his workers enough so that they could buy his product. Also remember every penny any business pays in taxes you pay in the cost of the goods you buy. The consumer pays for ALL taxes, benefits, & wages. One can't have inexpensive products, high wages & large benefits at the same time.
