Now a days sex happens before and after marriage. So i seriously doubt that sex is the motive for marriage. Oh yes and by the way there is a "spell check" right on top of the question box!

No marriage is a constitution based on love,honesty,total commitment,honesty & understanding ,sex comes after all this.But it is true also that it is important to keep the marriage intact because often problems in sex cause frictions in a relationship,so if we look at both the sides of a coin it is secondary on one side & very important on the other side...

No. Sex is one of the many factors which make up marriage. Marriage is an institution, which has its own set of rules, which each partner must observe. Marriage is made of two people in love. You have to ask people married for many years, past their prime and cannot have sex, but are still in love, still care for eachother.

you don't need to be married to necessarily have sex . so that should answer your question that sex is not the only motive . a marriage has several other factors that make it work. look at the larger picture.

Marriage is a licence for doing sex, above this, it is a challenge where u have to play diff. roles in ur married life, u have to become a lover, a friend, a father/mother of ur child and so many.
