There's a lot of "rock" bands. So I don't have a favorite really.

by far, the band YES. That's its name. They're great 60's and 70's rock. lots of really weird stuff. if you've ever heard "Roundabout" or "I've Seen All Good People," then that's YES. But also try searching for the song "Siberian Khatru." That song has the greatest introduction EVER!!!

Led Zeppelin, easy. Pink Floyd is a close contender, but it just doesn't get any better than Stairway to Heaven and Immigrant Song.
