America is contiually looking over seas to solve other peoples problems because there is money in cureing all the sick people in lets say India, the government can sell the medicine it makes in the U.S. for like 4x the money they could sell it for here. The reason the United States wont fix its own problems is because we have been so open to letting people come in and out of our country that there is no real America. America was founded by a whole bunch of white dudes that were sick and tired of being bossed around and told, you can and cant worship/do this and that by other white dudes. Now America has more Spanish, African you name it in it than the whites who founded it. But it think i found a solution to the problems in America... If we can close off the country to everything and everyone and just for 4-8 years have someone in office who will rearrange and change almost everything about the government. The country most of the people who read this are in is and has been lieing to us they say we have freedom of speech when certain words are deemed "bad" or "dirty" they say we have the right to bear arms...as long as the state or the government gives you a piece of paper saying you can have it. We need to revolt and definatley let the people who are in charge know that we want what this country guarentees and we want it now.

People in the United States are empathetic to those around the world who do not have the freedoms and opportunities that we have here. Americans do not know what true poverty and hunger are, people who live in Darfur do. There are so many problems in the world, and we are simply doing all we can to prioritize them. Undereducation in the deep south is nothing compared to the non existent education in many other parts of the world. Americans are an extremely self serving society, and it shows when comments like yours are made.

The American public's priorities for solving problems, at home or abroad, have limited corrillation with the problems that America's resources are put towards. Political and economic greed are an important factor. Viva la revolution

This question sounds a lot like those that questioned us going to WWII. We aren't trying to solve the worlds problems, just the murdering of innocent people. We didn't get involved early enough in WWII but have fortunately learned from our mistakes. We need to stop people that think one race or tribe is better than another from killing them for no reason.

Well you see you have to understand a couple of things.
We need other countries to be stable. War for them is bad for us.
We can't be held hostage by another country. example.
Lets say the USA didn't grow enough food for it's citizens, but another country that said they would give us the food ...now decides that it wants more money for it.
OK now this is wrong and also our government isn't supposed to let things like this happen.
We are supposed to be independent from other countries.
But as you know somethings are out of our control.
We have to keep things better for us if not then who will.
Just imagine what our lives would be if we didn't.

I'm not sure that the US is necessarily "solving" the world's problems.. the real impetus for US foreign policy is because your economy is an export based one and your financial well-being relies on ensuring ther are continued expanding markets for your products.. most importantly WEAPONS, of which the United States are one of the biggest manufacturers / exporters.

easily we don't resolve the themes of the international. We make concepts. while it is composed of ourselves, we are managing the specifics of our very own existence and all of us understand that we would fairly ought to act upon the answer. Suggesting is a lot much less complicated than doing.

That's a good question. Why do people complain that we should be worrying about ourselves more and we shouldn't have troops in the middle east, but at the same time complain that we aren't doing enough to help the people in Africa who are dying of AIDS?

America is pretending to be nice. She is not solving the problems of other countries, but protecting her own interest through its carrot and stick approach. Don't they say there is no free lunch in America?

Amen! What happened to "Charity begins at home"?
I think it's because it makes wealthy Americans feel superior to "do good" overseas. That way they get to do it long-distance without getting their white gloves dirty or taking a good hard look at what's going on right under their snooty noses!
I'm going to make this my business to make a difference. Thank you for reminding us all to sweep our door steps before we go kicking up dust on anyone else's!
