and I am on my period I get blood all over my hands. Should I wear gloves?

It is none of my business, but I think you need help if you had to ask us the question on the Internet. You shouldn't do anything like that in your period. It sounds a little gross. BUT, to answer the question, you can use a tampon (thus no blood), right? A vibrator will take the place of the hand in-case you don't use tampons. Of-course you can use both the vibrator and tampons. I have done that myself and it worked. ( Please excuse me for being so blunt and to the point )!!!!! I am sorry for offending anyone.

Being it is your own blood, therein no worries of contacting blood born pathogens, how ever ,as soon as you are done you should clean your self. From the sounds of it, there is alto of blood, so most likely it is your period, and not from vaginal stretching. If this happens every time you do it, you may need to consult a doctor.
What you do is perfectly natural, but it is still personal. So it is easy to understand why you chose this forum to ask.
