Most of the answers are found to be satisfactory and also fulfills the requirement of the asker. Only answer to questions which is fun for answering by the answerer are all funny and vague otherwise they are fine.

I'm surprised by what I've found on Yahoo Answer.

I really expected it to be purely straight-up answers to legitimate questions. And, there is some of that here but for the most part it is a very small share.

It seems that instead of an exchange service for providing cut and dry answers it is comprised more of opinion with answers and even questions that are designed to be provocative and entertaining or just an outlet for boredom.

So, to answer your question, sometimes I do trust the answers I get on Yahoo but as in all cases, I would seek to confirm the accuracy of the answer before relying on it. Still, it is a great first step and I think Yahoo has a great service here even with all of the side features that do not seem to be the main purpose, or maybe they are...

Since my answers outnumber my questions 2346 to 1.....i am not the ideal person to ask.

But since i obviously like to answer.....i will say that i read a lot of questions, and a lot of answers, and over time i have learned that i can trust the answers of a few people all of the time, i can trust the answers of some people some of the time, and i can trust the answers of a lot of people absolutely none of the time.

So when i do ask my next question.....i have a pretty good idea what to expect.

(Stay tuned. Questions are, in fact, being composed even as i write this.)

I do not==and it appears you do not either by simply asking this question. Always cross-check information before accepting it as factual. Some people will,on purpose, set you up with half truths, plain lies, and "made-up" B.S.-- Others just throw in their 2cents worth and are really quite dumb replies--Some are just clowning around to have something to do--while there are a few on a ego trip. There are several reasons. Best advice I can give you is: " Let the buyer beware!" Watch the Tonight Show with Jay Leno--"Jaywalking"where he asks people on the street questions.

YES/NO....... You must use your common sense as with anything.Answers is a good Forum to express yourself. You still
must do your own research to make an intelligent choice or find
a cohesive solution to your problem/situation.You should never
take advice w/o checking the source.Even from friends/family.
You must learn to become a more critical thinker.
Ask,check,validate,decide.

Most of them come from the heart and personal experiences so I trust most of them. Some of them are jokes though, like someone just asked "what are good websites to download Iranian music?" and someone says www.nonexistantsongs.com . just to be racist... but tehre are so many people like now in this world. I trust most of my answers though.

:-)

Depends. If you're looking to find medical advide on here, I wouldn't trust them. If you're asking for a good restaurant in downtown Portland, I think you can trust the answes.
