Emo is a derogatory category for a certain neo-punk trend which seems really superficial and conformist. But really estranging yourselves from the "emo" fashion is a kind of pied-piperism of it's own. It's a war waged by (more often than not) reactionary culture. That is, middle class conformists in sports/car/men magazines. By excluding the "emo" (which I'm sure deserve ridicule-- but you have to ask "why", what purpose does it serve) these cultural syndicates grow in force and are more readily adopted. It's a certain anti-PC, anti-romance, anti-anti-establishment irony. It's pretty powerful because it has the sheen of novelty, the bandwagon mentality, and can juggle several ragdolls like "the emo" at the same time.

Oh! I didn't realize the totatality was emo! I also am an artist in music! I paint with tones of color, I guess that would make me emo? Don't think so! To help get over the emos' you don't personalize everything that is said to you or about you. Listen to what is said as it will tell you where the person is coming from and it usually is a false premise. By not becoming emo, you stay centered and at peace within yourself and you don't have to open your head to get your point across! You don't give the other person a chance to come back and ridicule and down grade. Some people do this, become emo, to make themselves look superior, and yet they are just the opposite. By choosing to be silent until that persons emotions have settled is divine, only at that time can you offer help or counsel. When somebody is emotional and worked up, they will not listen to reason. The art of listening is an art that needs to be cultured and learned. We, as humans were given 2 ears and 1 mouth, which means we should listen 2X more than we speak. Nobody knows you are a fool and unlearned until you open your mouth!

Freewill causes all of this. One must choose, but choose wisely. Emotions are for those who can't handle the repercussions of their actions. Be rational, and use your head, and not your heart for thinking. Love not one but all, and walk a righteous path, if you can. You may come to see that emotions will fall away, because you begin to learn that things happen to people because of the choices they have made, and it is their fault!
They have made they're beds, now they must lie in them. They should stop crying the blues, and pick themselves up, and make the right choice the next time.

What do you mean everyone. I am engaged to a very emotionless person. I am very emotional. So we balance one another. He doesn't even notice emotion. I have to point it out to him. You are aware of emotion obviously, so you are not completely emotionless yourself. One a scale of one to ten how emotional are you and how emotional do you think the majority are? I myself would say an 8. I am an artist and we feel powerful emotion, but I am not a complete drama queen because I am older now. Where is your number?

why do you say that not everyone is its like asking why is everyone "preppy" or "sporty"? so what they are different, they don't like things that other people do they are liek that b/c of poeple like you. it seems to me that u lable people "emo "if they'er not like all of your friends. not trying to pick any sides if you know what i mean i just think you should be open minded
