It is fascinating how such a concept can occur. I would love to know where you got that idea. the Congress selected a committee to draft a declaration of independence. The committee, composed of John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Robert R. Livingston, and Roger Sherman, in turn instructed Thomas Jefferson to write the declaration. Jefferson began his work on June 11 and toiled in seclusion writing a number of drafts. After presenting his final draft, the committee further revised the document and submitted it to the Continental Congress on June 28. On July 2, the Continental Congress voted for independence and refined its Declaration of Independence before releasing it to the public on July 4th.
So, while basically written by Thomas Jefferson, it was edited by the committee and by the congress. No one France had anything to do with it.

Franklin did not write the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson did, and some people believe that he borrowed heavily from philosopher John Locke, who developed many of the ideas Jefferson set forth in the Declaration.

No, it is not true that some guy in France wrote the declaration of Independance. France does have a connection with America's independance, however. They created the Statue of Liberty.

Thomas Jefferson led the committee that drafted the Declaration. Franklin didn't write it, and neither did "some guy in France" -- and where do people hear such idiotic nonsense?

Benjamin Franklin was a liar, a cheat, a thief, and a complete fraud, and anything accredited to him is automatically suspect.
However, Thomas Jefferson is the person generally believed to have written the American Declaration of Independence.....but, as i was not there, i cannot personally verify that.

No, no one in France wrote it nor did Franklin. Thomas Jefferson was appointed to write it, subject to revisions by the Continental Congress.

they (France) also went to war against england with us. the debt incurred from the american revolution was a factor in bringing about the french revolution, and the loss of the king and queen's heads!
btw, franklin did not actually write it. franklin, john adams, and two other guys (Livingston & Sherman) were responsible for its revisions before it was presented to the 2nd congress for approval.
it was actually written by jefferson.
