Pain is a necessary component, both in the world and in our personal lives. Without night, who would appreciate day? Without pain, there is no true pleasure. Continuous pleasure would cease to be pleasure. There is an episode of the Twilight Zone, in which a criminal is sent to what he assumes is heaven; there are beautiful women all around, and his own casino, in which he never loses. Anything and everything he desires is gladly handed to him on a silver platter. Though he is happy at first, by the end of the episode he is miserable, feeling there is no challenge, no possibility for unhappiness, and begs his angelic guide to be sent to Hell.
"Why, good sir," responds the angel, "this *is* Hell."
As far as the "excessive" amount of pain and grief on a planetary level, that can be readily traced back to man himself. Responsibility can in many cases be attributed to individual who is "suffering," though in many cases outside factors (such as large businesses who exercise more regard for profit margins than human life). As far as changing goes, it's unlikely. Just remember, for example, that the unemployment margin will never sink to 0, as there will always be some people that just don't want to work; so shall there be some people that simply don't wish to change their situations, whatever they may be.

There is pain and suffering because people can only be truley happy through helping others and making the world a better place and loving eachother. I was talking about this the other day: If there was no suffering and no saddness then we would have nothing to work for. Man strives to create perfection from imperfection. But if everything was perfect we wouldn't be happy because we would be no sense of achievement.
I'm not sure as to why it's like that but I know it can be changed. Not all of it but certainly most but EVERYONE would have to work for it together. If no-one would fight there would be no wars. I think people have a lack of understanding of eachother sometimes and just how powerful we can be when we work together.
We learn from suffering and it's through learning that we become better people.

Hi i think the suffering in the world is caused by us not feeling connected to our maker. that's what most people are searching for is an answer to all the big Q's of life. Once you find a religion that suits, you become much more happy in your community you want to give back to society. these churches do do good works but unfortunately there never will be just one religion as the world is too diverse to encompass all tribes, people would have to see no colour to skin and no social divisions in society, the best way to stop making these monsters that prowl our society is to love our kids more all children , it is a damaged and disturbed human being that can turn an innocent child into a murderer. ie was hitler, robert mugabwe or even sadam hussain born bad or created with lack of love sensitivity and understanding in there formative years. mother love.

Thats what is called human feelings. It may not really solve the problem, but can aid its amelioration.
The blind ought to know the spot of his pain. Not so with many in todays world. In Africa, the white came and rub it of its beautiful and peaceful way of life. They live in community- sharing pain and having no need to complain. That was taken away via the gun and it stead, they introduce an isolation kind of lifestyle and peoples pain and agony increases.
The glorious and honoured are the hard working and virtuous. The white came and replaced subsistense with money- hard to come by, The search for paper [money] destroyed the root of many families.
Today, a boy of 9month is already a pupil because the money must work harder to meet increasing demand.
We are now using raw energy and health to search for wealth only to grow older and start using the wealth to search for health.
Thats why the west is afraid of Islam. Try and research into this faith and you'd get the sure answer to your mind borging thought. Good Luck!

probable no longer something. besides the undeniable fact that, each and every man or woman might want to do plenty to alleviate *close by* suffering, even of only another man or woman. If all of us did that, there does no longer be any "international suffering." My little area contains doing volunteer preparation (in math, technology, and English as a second language) -- assisting human beings benefit skills that could want to get them better jobs and extra pay. I also help out my community (nutrients drives, fund raisers, etc.) when I can. those issues in person-friendly words make a small dent in even close by suffering, besides the undeniable fact that it really is a dent though. (atheist) Peace.

The people's greed has caused the world all this pain and suffering, after all this time we still fight over something like greed, religion, etc...
If everyone held his faith in his heart, what would hurt him if his neighbour had another faith?
I hope one day we can be able to make that change, the change for the better.
Thank you.

anything other than pain and grief is an ideal that, unfortunately, will never be achieved as long as you have ambition. people rarely see beyond the end of their own nose.
its the nature of man.
sorry i dont like your songs but glad to read your question!
