Mine does the same - if you look at the top, a lot of websites have a link or button saying "Printable view", click this first and then print away.

It's the margin. You can make the margins smaller by going to File ==> Page Setup. If you make the margins too small - I think it will flash up a warning message before you start printing - there is a danger that the printing arm might print off the paper, which might damage the printer; I think all modern printers will show a warning message when you close page setup.
On the other hand, if you want to be flashy, you could get an expensive border less printer.
Reading down the page at what other people have said about US letter sizes, you could try printing the page in landscape which is also in page setup.

Because your printer prints in portrait (upright) format, but the web is designed in landscape format; the screen size bears no relation to A4 paper.
If the website designer wants you to be able to print they will design an alternative Print View.
Alternatively you can try altering the properties of your print and use the Landscape option, also check Scale to Fit and if you're lucky you'll get the screen on one page. The window is usuall available through Print with Preview, or Printer Properties.

I'm not 100% sure if this works on all printers but on mine you can set the margin lines by going through the control panel and it aligns the cartridge so you get the full page when printing. May be worth a try?

Websites use what's known as "landscape" format, which means the page is wider and not as long. Imagine taking a lineless 8" X 11" piece of paper and flipping it on its side. That's what landscape format looks like. You need to go to File > Print Preview and select "Landscape" in order to print the entire width of the page.

Here's how to remedy that problem:
Go to FILE
Go to PRINT SETUP
You will see on lower left side the word ORIENTATION, with two choices--->Portrait --------> or Landscape.
Click LANDSCAPE, then OK
You will be able to print anything that normally chops off the right side. Instead of holding the paper by the short way 8.5", you will now hold the paper by the 11" sides.
Do remember to do back and put the paper back to portrait so that your future papers will print properly.
From the copier patrol...tee hee...

It may be partly because of the common use of US 'letter' size paper (216 mm wide) being used by the US website designers instead of the international A4 (210 mm wide).
Version 7 of Internet Explorer should not have this problem.

I don't know, but mine does too. I copy and paste into word instead.
