I've run anti-virus and anti-spy, nothing shows up.

there's some thing in your registry keys that causing this that your anti virus or spyware isn't picking up. you may need to get a registry cleaner, which you can get from norton. if it still continues, you may need to reinstall windows.

It could be heat or static electricity. To see if its heat, open the side cover and touch the side of the big heat-sink that sits over your processor...if it is more than a little warm (110-130 degrees f) you need to do something. It is possible to run the computer with the side off of it and put a smaller household-type fan on it, but a long-term solution would be to modify or upgrade your case...

Static electricity also causes serious errors. A small tester is available from most hardware stores that tests three-prong outlets (which will still work if they are wired incorrectly). Improper grounding can cause static-electricity build-ups that can damage your computer. So get a tester and check your outlets...!! Heres a page on how to use the tester...

it can be cost by many recent.

try this
1 system recovery
start < control panel < performance n maintenance < system restore ( chose the date before ur pc is error )

2 up date all ur add on device ( driver )
start < control panel < performance n maintenance < system < hardware < device mananger ( look for ur add on device name ) click update drive.

3 window update
start < control panel < window update

4 reinstall win-xp ( if all about is doesnt work )

when boot press f8

choose safe mode, the run soem registry stuff, spyware etc

the try boot again normaly
