Well the apple is a piece of juicy inviting mass which the earth feels like eating. So earths hunger is proportional to the density of apple and inversely proportional to the diameter and strength of the holding bud. Thus when earth seeks it's fruit the bud breaks under tensile load and the mass of the apple becomes so high that it loses its stable position on the tree.In the process it finds it's way in the open mouth of the earth which in itself gives rise to various triggers in the minds of the idle few viz. newton and eve which go on to create the history and may be the whole world !

I hope your question also creates history.

Regards,
Kedar.

Haven't you heard of something called Newton's Law of Gravity ??
Well, if u really wanted to know what it is then here goes the theory,

The apple is accelerated, since its velocity changes from zero as it is hanging on the tree and moves toward the ground. Thus, by Newton's 2nd Law( The second law states that the acceleration of an object is dependent upon two variables - the net force acting upon the object and the mass of the object) there must be a force that acts on the apple to cause this acceleration. Let's call this force "gravity", and the associated acceleration the "accleration due to gravity".

gravity, discovered when an apple fell on Isacc Newtons head. But the cause is that the tree no longer feeds the apple when it is ripe, and starts to seal off the stalk, eventually the stalk starts to wither, and the apple falls down, unless picked first.

because they are ripe and they are becoming a burden on the mother tree .. they need to make room for new if they didn't wed starve . has always intrigued me too ! hope you have some good answers ill read them .x

Because the tree doesn't want to put the apples on ground himself, so the apples had to find a solution to reach the earth. So they used the power of gravity.
Exciting, isn't it?

Gravity is only a scientific theory. They could fall due to the will of a supernatural entity - i.e., Intelligent Falling.

becuz isaac newton had nothing to do one day and decided to create gravity for fun!! and cuz he was hungry and wanted an apple but was too lazy to get up and reach for one

I know what you mean, Why does Rain drop but Snow fall. It's a damn good question. (i think it's because it's easier than going up!).

Because apples cannot fly.

Damn, just a second too late!
