Are you interested in traveling to South Korea? I was born there and went back when I was 11 (a million years ago), and my aunt & mother have traveled back there several times since. The last time being two years ago.
I can tell you that it is very crowded, some people can be very rude (my mother said that she couldn't believe how much it had changed & the rudeness of people since the last time she was there - I guess she's too Americanized), it's similar to being in other crowded cities. It can be rather pricey to stay there (think Hawaii in Asia, very expensive), and airfare (especially now with soring fuel prices) can be rather pricey as well. However, if you put crowds, rudeness and money aside, and you feel like traveling & being adventureous you can find some beautiful sights and places to see. The traditional costumes are gorgeous, the food is wonderful, and the history of the two Koreas is unbelievable! If you go, you definately need to visit the DMZ.
Below are some links on South Korea. They should give you some general ideas on South Korea, its culture, history, pictures, etc. You can also do your own searches through Yahoo, Google, etc. If you are really interested in the South Korean culture, people and history, make sure to do some research on North & South Korea, the Korean war, and then you'll get a good fell for both countries, their people and the history of the two Koreas.

There are many, many websites that offer pictures and information regarding the ROK (South Korea). Just use any search engine to find what you are looking for.
I have visited the ROK three times; twice in Busan (a/k/a Pusan) and once in Masan. Every time I found Koreans to be reticent toward foreigners, but once you get to know them, they are some of the most generous, fun people in the world. I would love to return to South Korea.

Yes, I lived there for two years and loved it. This was back in the early 80's, though. I have heard that Americans are not as welcome these days everywhere, and may not be treated as well. I had a wonderful time when I was there, though.
