Its probably a good idea on any car, however if your car has front and/or rear struts its critical.

shocks NO, Struts- YES. The cam bolt on a strut will make alignment almost always needed. A good mechanic can realign the nut with a mak to make the new struts fit the same way as the last.
Shocks fit into the SAME holes. NO change in tire camber will be noticed.

If your car is front wheel drive yes because to replace the shocks up front you have to dismantle the suspension to a cretain extent therefore moving the exact spec out of alignment. It may be a small degree but that can sffect the tires by premature wear if you just did the rear you could get away without doing it unless you have 4 wheel independent suspension

not always, if the new shocks are gas charged then yes if not they will not change the alignment, if you have any signs of uneven tire wear or drifting/pulling to one side you should have the alignment done

NO THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH STERING IF IT POOLS TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT THEN HAVE THE FRONT ALIGNED GOOD LUCK
