The whole earth will perish in a few billion years when our sun turns into a red giant.

As far as life on earth is concerned, there have already been periods in earth's history where a large portion of life on earth has been wiped out. These are known as "Extinction Events." From your question, I gather that you believe we are in the middle of an Extinction Event. As it turns out, many scientists agree with you. A 1998 survey by the American Museum of Natural History found that 70% of biologists view the present era as part of a mass extinction event, the fastest to have ever occurred. If it is true that we are in the middle of an Extinction Event, it is entirely possilbe that humans will be among the species that do not survive. However, it is extremely unlikely that all life on earth will become extinct. In particular, arthropods have been quite successful in the past, despite extreme changes in the earth's climate.

I notice you are an optimistic person :-)

Life on Earth will disappear on December 31st, 1999 at midnight.
Everybody knows that!

It is said that after this event, there will only remain illusions of life.
You know, like in "Matrix"-movie.

Brrrrr!

With the number of plants giving us oxygen, we would still have 100 years left (even if the plants died) from all of the oxygen still floating around.

Don't worry about things like that, though. Just live life to the fullest and forget about it!
