Where I work, every day people need to pass through the metal detectors. Even after removing watches and wallets and keys and belts, some people consistently set off the detector and others consistently do not. (I do not)

It could be the shoes. Many shoes have a form of metal in them. That's why at the airport you must take off your shoes in addition to belts, watches and coins.

My mother has a metal replaciing her knee joint and certainly causes concern at the airport lol

I once was in a geriatric hospital and some people bragged that they would last forever because of the metal replacement parts in their bodies lol

they have trays the place you are able to placed something which you think of might set off off the detectors (loose substitute, hair clips, etc.) They make you renounce any steel gadgets formerly even strolling contained in direction of the detectors.

some people have higher levels of trace metals in the body.
for example, people from say africa where they still ise leaded gasoline would have have higher levels than someone in canada because the lead is in the rain which gets onto the crops which they eat causing a higher concentration of trace in the body.

One of the Security Staff has a button which he presses whenever he sees anyone suspicious whether or not they have been searched and through the detector. It gives him 'probable cause'....................
