I was born here in the USA but I was in a similar situation. I did have a job and a licsense, but my parents charged me so much for rent I could not afford to move out. Do you have you own place? She is 26, he cannot stop her from moving out.My father was/is verbally abusive. My self esteem has gone up 1000% since getting out of a situation where I was insulted bossed around daily and cussed out a few times a week. Offer her a place to stay, do not say anything to her father, this wil only make it worse.

It's none of your business because she's an adult and if she wants to leave, the law is on her side. She should get out of his home...maybe offer to let her stay with you or help her get her own apartment. But don't get into family matters, you're just asking for trouble.

I would rather advice you to stay off the whole thing. It's rather sad, and even though you have a good intention, it may not help much. Rather, it would cause more problems for your friend.

Their culture is so different than ours. It won't do you any good to do or say anything. I'm really surprised he allows you to be friends.

I would stay out of it. It's probably a cultural thing.
