I’m sure there is an easier way then totally refinishing the table to bring back the shine to this small smear. It looks as if something was spilled on it and then wiped away, although I don’t know what it could have been. I’ve tried using the dark Old English but it didn’t help. It hasn’t damaged the wood, just the surface shine. Please someone give me a solution to this problem.

Apply a Small amount of Liquid refinisher. It will dissolve the finish. Then use 0000 steel wool to redistribute the finish. Go with the grain of the wood. If dissolving the finish is enough to spread and even out the finish, don't use the steel wool. Buy a good known product from a hardware store. Buy cheap and you will get cheap results.

You're lovely, you know that ;) Only a mature adult could start so innocuous a question as this with so incendiary a lead-in. Well done! Yes, that's too big. Cut it into slices, 3/4" to 1" thick and sell by the piece. You'll make more money that way, and will have a better chance of selling the whole loaf. Remember, people eat with their eyes first, so you have to present them something they'll think is edible. Banana bread is rich and rather heavy on the calorie side, so keep the pieces looking small enough to fit in your hand, but big enough to even out against the price. I'd say .75 - $1 is a good bet.

Very fine steel wool. Rub gently with the grain of the wood in long strokes. overlaping an area larger the the stain its self.
It may take some time, but it will be worth it. Do this DRY by the way.
