The best way you can do this without shelling out $40 or $50 for Anti-Virus software, is to download AVG Anti-virus. It's one of the best free anti-virus programs, and automatically updates frquently to keep you protected from the newest viruses.
After you download and install it, run a full system scan, and then check the Test Center, open the scan result and look for files that are marked in red. Move those files to the Virus Vault to keep them at bay.

Download AVG and run it. If you have a virus, it could help. Also, try programs like Ad-aware or Spybot. If these don't work, you might need to boot your PC into safe mode and use the MSconfig utility to trace what is being started up and just uncheck the option and delete the path folder.
