.If water is leaking through the ceiling, then part of the a/c, the airhandler is located there. This would include the drain pan/line to the outside.Probably a tube/tubes running down the wall one of these is the drain line.Usually a technician will go up to the ceiling and clean out the water pan and blow air from inside the pan line outward to clean out the slime/blockage you may just need to change the filter if your lucky, that will work .If you have to f*** up something yourself, just squirt a hose from the outside drain tube. After the flood ruins the ceiling,it won't drip anymore.

You have a plugged condensate line. Somewhere in your unit above the filter is a pan to catch the condensation. This line runs outside your house and is supposed to drain the pan.
Over the years they plug up. You need to blow it out.
Find where it comes out either under or most likely outside your house then go back in and look in your filter opening & see if you can reach the pan. Sponge out the water then go outside where you found the end of ther line. Hold the end of the line and the end of a hose together and have someone turn on the water. Try to seal the "joint" by wrapping your hand around where the hose & line come together. Allow to run a few seconds. This will clear the debris out.
Every spring when you first use your air make sure water is trickling out of the line.

This is condensation from the compressor. You need to reinstall a condensation line to carry the water off the roof, so it doesnt end up in your filter. Wet filters cause the blower to work too hard, trying to pull air through the wet filter. Too long of this overwork cuts down the life of the blower motor, meaning an expensive replacement.
Usually PVC scedule 40 irrigation pipe is used to do this. Ive installed and repaired tons, its not hard, just hot on the roof.

Is it leaking threw ceiling? if so shop vac pan under air handler, pour bleach into pan(this cleans slime from drain line) then replace float switch because float switch is to interupt unit if pan fills. If water drops are on vent in certain room, check room for open window or for a source of humid air. Also make sure vent is fully open and not obstructed. Always keep that filter clean. The handler will lose years of service and clean your coils once every6 months.

You're talking about a window unit, yes? You need to lower the end outside the house, just a bit, until it's lower than the front. The water is normal, but it's supposed to drip out the back, outside the house. Make sure the unit is still stable, but the outside part should be slightly lower than the inside, just enough so the water flows out.

It's supposed to. Just like any cold thing collects condensation on a hot day. Do you see how water beads up on the outside of a cold glass of water?... that's not water leaking out of the glass...that's water coming out of the air. Warm air can hold water...and cold air can't. There should be a drain. or a pan built in to catch water.

Your condensation drain line is plugged. To fix this you need to locate the drain line and blow it out with compressed air. I've found you can prevent this by using chlorine tablets in the pan twice a year. You can find the tablets at any pool supply company. The advantage of the tablets is they dissolve slowly and thus prevents the mold and algae from forming over time.
