I think that the Summer Olympics in China will be good because China is the oldest civilization in the World and visitors from all over the world who attend the games will be able to experiece Chinese Culture since China is the oldest country in the world.

I don't know that the age of a culture should be a deciding factor. I'm more interested in the civil rights issue- How do we know they will be fair in broadcasting, etc?
No, I'm not excited about the Olympics being in China... But it is the Olympics- it's about fair athletic competition...

Anyhow, I only cares about business. The Olympic Game in China is good for business.

If Athens could pull it off given all the pre-olympic problems they had, then China should put together one hell of a show for the world. I'm looking forward to it. Especially the opening ceremonies, because China is so rich in tradition and history, it should be a fascinating show.

It is one of the oldest, but the middle east/Egypt could be older.

But seriously, it may help. After all, they would be less isolated. And with thier potential, I think it would be better to have them be involved with the rest of the world on a social level. And what better way than the Olympics ?
