For Hondas, under the odometer there is the RESET button to reset the trip meter.
with the key in the off position, press the RESET button and keep pressing it. Turn the key on, but do not turn the engine on. Keep pressing the reset button for about 40-50 seconds.
The light will turn off while you're pressing it, that is you que that the light is reset.
It works on Honda with the maintenance light between 1998 - 2006

DO NOT unplugged the battery cables, the maintenance light is not THE CHECK ENGINE LIIGHT, if you unplugged the battery cables, the light will still show up

If it's anything like a GM...for most GM vehicles you turn the ignition to the "ON" position and tap the gas pedal to the floor three times.

disconnect, give five minutes for electrical stability to weaken. return connenction. turn car on but not turned over(elect. only) for ten seconds. Wait five more, then turn the car on and idle in park for five minutes. Turn off one last time and that should help

DISCONECT THE BATTERY ON THE CAR THEN LET IT SIT FOR FIVE MIN THEN RECONNECT THE BATTERY THAT SHOULD RE PROGRAM THE COMP GOOD LUCK that should turn off light
