I was at the grocery store today, and noticed something.
It was full of black women. Every one of them had a kid(or more).
Not a single one of them was wearing a wedding band. Not one.
I just think it's kind of ironic that damn near 80 percent of black women (in my area)have kids, yet damn near 80 percent of black men (in my area) are not married. Go figure. I really wouldn't give a damn, but it pisses me off that I'm unusual(30 year old black woman, never married, no ******* kids.) My question is: Do black men ever seriously contemplate marriage? Or are they happier going from woman to woman knocking everybody up? It's a harsh question, I know; but I'm curious. For the record, I don't hate black men, but I won't date anyone with kids, and that pretty much cancels them out.

So far, excellent answers. even "how much" had something cute to say. However, there are a couple of you who seem a little naiive. I think many of these women were raised in poor communities, with horny young black guys lurking on every damn street corner. Don't think these areas don't exist: I have to drive through one every day I go to work. I glance around while I'm driving, and guess what I usually see? 15, 16, 17, year old girls lugging infants around. I think these girls are pressured into sex early. And with the parents working hard to make ends meet, they are rarley at home to supervise. I understand that many of you think the woman or girl should be just as responsible, and I agree, somewhat, BUT It is the men who are in the dominant position here, so most of the blame should lie with them. Don't believe me? Let one of your young daughters/sisters walk down the street in the type of neighborhood I'm talking about. Watch the black guys swoop down on them like vultures

Why do you not date men with kids? Are you too self-centered to "share" a man with his children? You may be passing up a good man by making this choice. Secondly, not every black woman wants to be married either. Their are plenty of women of all races that are choosing to raise a child alone. Lastly, it is too bad that you haven't had a good experience with black men, but that is no reason to assume that black men don't want to be in committed relationships. They have to find a woman who is worth spending the rest of their lives with.

Maybe a better question is, why do black women allow it? There is always two sides to a coin, and blaming it on the men is a cheap shot. If black men want to be the "rolling stone", why is that? What is it about black women that has black men wanting to hit and run? Are black men born to be bastards? I dont think so.
In our society we have become people that love to point the cannon at others, but we rarely, if ever, take a close up and personal look at ourselves.
I dont know the answer to ur question. But I have taken a close look at black men and women, on the street. What did I see. I see a boatload of huge, obese black women. I mean, a big as houses. As big as whales. Holy Jesus!!!! That may play a role to some extent. You know what else I see? I see and hear a lot of "ghetto drama". When a sister gets on roll, and that head gets to moving, and the voice gets loud, a brother better look out. Save the drama for yo mama.

Black men (as with other ethnicities) run the matramonial gamut from "seriously looking" to "dog to the day I die". For a variety of reasons, there is a limited pool of eligible Black men within certain age groups who may fit your criteria. You may need to consider expanding your eligibility preferences in terms of age or ethnicity. Black men don't "go from woman to woman knocking..." unless their partners have chosen unsafe and/or unprotected sex or simply unwise premature decisions about their mate. And if you shopped in Coeur d'Alene Idaho, or Salt Lake City, Utah or Taos, New Mexico or Douglass, Arizona or Bluefield, West Virginia or any number of similarly demographic cities; you might discover your question and profane editorial preface need not include ethnicity at all.

That's a rather grand stereotype don't you think? For a start its not only black men who sleep around, second did it occur to you that maybe some of the women there were in a relationship with the father not necessarily married? You don't have to be married to be a parent just so you know.
Finally its all well and good blaming the man but you forget it takes the man to say "lets have sex"
and the woman to say "sure why not?"
It should be both parties worrying about the consequences of their actions not just leaving it down to one or the other.

well as the first answerer wrote all men ar the same,(both white and black), i had a black brother some years back, and now married to a white, and there isnt that big difference we always think there is. well as for the babies, why this women allow men to make them pregnant before they put a ring in their fingers? we women need to be tought too, if black men dont wanna a marriage then dont have kids, use contraception, and dont have kids till tht ring is on your finger. period.
