If you are referring to the one which always come with product ..example: Java(TM)..then it's TradeMark. Once you trademark the product names, other people can't copy them. Or else you can sue them. That's the purpose for.

It depends of the context of course. If mentioned in an article with a reference it's probably Time Magazine, but if it's on a product it's most likely TradeMark. In a banking brochure it might mean Teller Machine.
