If you mean the large asteroid that has been in the news, it passed the earth at a distance outside the orbit of the moon, as predicted.
Other than that, asteroids of some size or another enter the atmosphere constantly.

They either miss, burn up and if they do enter our earth they are already too small enough (not literally, some of them are still huge) to do catastrophic damage. Most the time time the ones that get in earth land in the ocean.

The last one I heard about was in the mid nineties, I don't know if that's the one you mean, that one landed in the sea. There are asteroids hurtling towards the Earth all the time, but they mostly burn up when they hit the Earths atmosphere.

First off,the sky would start to become black due to it's shadow,the sun gets blocked out and slowly this huge stone drifts overhead until it strikes the horizon,sending a supersonic plasma shock wave around the entire planet...tom science
