My oldest brother, Steve, was 8 yrs older then me and he marched to a different beat then the rest of the family. He was a true loner and never contacted family, we had to seek him out but usually without any luck. Last Feb. I got a phone call from my father telling me that my brother had passed away. I had not seen him for 21 yrs. he was 48 yrs old. I didn't really know him and that is sad. It was his choice to stay away and I respected his decision, but I feel that if he had allowed his family to love him he may not have passed away so early in his life.

I haven't really had a conversation to one of my sisters in almost 2 yrs. I can never not talk to my mom, her and i live too far apart and i miss her too much. And my dad and I are just now starting to talk and get along again. Family is important...they will always be your family, friends come and go.

No too many days, unless we are working and busy-we get along well and don't usually resort to to the silent treatment as a long term punishment. Normally we just get over it and go on-life is too short.

i can go a long time w/ out talking to my brother. (only have 1 sibling). but my mom is one of my best friends and all my friends love her so its hard not to talk to her, but i don't have any reasons that i shouldn't talk to her for. my dad, works a lot so whenever he is home we are connected by the hip. why are you wondering about this???

I live in another country from my family, so one year is the longest without personally speaking to them (not even on the phone). Uh oh, do you mean, not speaking in terms of sending them to Coventry because you are angry with them? In my case, that has never happened.
