give ur crush some hint. it is to test the water first before u really go for it as in tell him u like him. if ur love is not returned, its hard sometimes to carry on the friendship because both will feel awkward when see each other.

enjoy their company, but don't do anything unless you are sure that your feelings are returned.

Friendship is so important, you have to be pretty sure you want to do anything that might jeopardise it.
