Am I too mean? I spray with cayenne pepper. It needs to be reapplied if it rains. I use this on my bird feeders to repel squirrels. They remember for awhile...and for the poor dogs who get walked by my front garden by their ignorant owners....grrr.
A cat remembers longer I think.

get some liquid fence won't hurt them but will keep them away including deer
