Question's first half: One is why ppl think they are special.

In Pygmalion, George Bernard Shaw tried to tell us that the difference between a flower girl and a princess is simply the way she is treated. If a person is treated like a princess, she starts behaving like one. Similarly if she is treated like a flower girl, she behaves like one. If that is the effect of what others think about us, what will be the effect of "what we think about ourselves" and how we treat ourselves.
Psychologists say, "It is all in the mind". A winner first thinks and believes that he can win. Then his performance improves by practice and ultimately he wins. It is a known fact that auto-suggestion is a very powerful force. So all super achievers first think that are the best and then become best. It is very rare that somebody became a world champion by thinking that he is a bum. If you want to become something, then you must believe that you can. Hence ambitious people think that they are special.

Second part of the question: Why ppl think they are Gods of the world?

At different points in history, countries, races, individuals dreamt of dominating the earth. Most of the civilizations rose because they wanted to dominate everyone. Examples range from Egyptian, Roman, Greek civilizations. We have examples of Alexander the Great from Greece, Joan of Arc in France, Bismarck in Germany, Napolean of France, Adolf Hitler in Germany, The British Empire, Russia, The Portuguese, Spain, Japan etc. Now Americans feel that they can dominate the earth. It is nothing new. Their ambition fuels their thoughts and they work towards achieving their ambition. Their superiority in technology, military etc. support their ambition.

Everyone living, regardless of his or her individual description, race, nationality, religion or political persuasion, is special. Every individual, including physically challenged people, has a special ability, gift or positive attribute that no one else has equal to what they have and that makes him or her special. No one has even the same finger prints. Americans, particularly, because of past victories and conquests over other nations, worldly influence among allies, general philosophy of independence, Christian doctrine, personal freedoms and a wealth of human and natural resources command much power in the world. However, the current ruler of this world is Satan, the devil. Eventually, the ruler of all worlds and every universe will defeat that ruler. That ruler will be Almighty God and the battle belongs to HIM. He will win and rule forever.

You speak as if you don't consider yourself special in some way. You probably say Jesus Christ when you curse, or God Dam you, and many other curses of that sort, and maybe more.
Here's something for you to chew on. Everyone need something to believe in; a reason why they are here, on this planet and this time , and what life is meant to be , and why it's the way it is. They hope a greater power, a Divine being, some thing caused all to happen. Simply put; to not believe in GOD, is to believe that there is a GOD not to believe in. There can be no ruler on this plane of existence. everyone who has tried has failed. Who's next?
The Planet is here for us to share with all the other creatures on it, but man doesn't share,does he, whether male or female, no-one shares, they want it all for themselves.
How do you expect to survive, when all man does is destroy. While man destroys, all living remnant of the living GOD is erased. The US is just one of the destroyers of present day. I hope to survive their stupidity!

it's because of their education. Some nationalities teach their people to be modest and to never underestimate any living being on this earth. Look at the Romans, for example; they had the money, they had the power, so they considered themselves above everyone, not taking into consideration that everything that was beautiful or ingenuous in their empire was created by the Greeks and so on. People with power teach their children to think they're better than the rest, just because they have something important(that was gained by someone else).
