let the food digest 1st. You are gettinga dtomach ache because all the blood is going to the stomach muscles to help in digestion, tahts why the old wives tale to wait 30 mins after eating to go swimming blood leaves certain areas to go where the biggest muscle is using it at the moment(which will be the stomach as a really big muscle)

If you know that you will be exercising, eat lightly ahead of time. Never have a feast (as I suspect you did) and then go out there running like Hercules. I pretty much eat what I like and thus I have little conflict in the eating department. Yes, I do believe in doctors but I also rely on some alternative medicine. I use peppermint powder (not candy) for about $6.00 a packet at my health store. It is Bonnie Sante (in Hyde Park) here in Chicago, Illinois. I take it in tea or some other liquid, but sometimes I use it just dry. It works immediately for me. In other words, if I have experienced food poisoning, I will throw up shortly. This peppermint powder is natural and just right for me. Also, I was surfing the net when I found www.amazon.com. There I found materials by Dr. Cass Ingram who is quite a fantastic alternative medicine doctor. He discovered a concoction made from oregano, sage and cumin. Cumin, by the way, comes from the cayenne pepper family. What he did was research it, and made it into a combination that is helpful in a bottle with a dropper or tablet form. You may have used the same products in your kitchen. The difference is that his products were grown in volcanic soil and are richer in value. This is where their strength lies. It runs about $30.00 for the dropper bottle. I don't remember what the tablet costs. The kicker is that, it lasts for about a year. It is natural and worthwhile to your health. Of course, my first suggestion is to go to a medical doctor and have him check you out for allergies. Otherwise, the products are pretty fantastic. Remember this, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" - Romans 8:31. Peace and God Bless.

If you need to eat before you play, fine. Just eat like an hour before - never eat right before and don't overeat. If you need to have something immediately before you play, then make it something small like an apple or something and have your bigger meal either an hour before you play or after.

easy answer-
ask any body builder-
"carbo loading- protien loading"
in other words, easily digestible carbohydrate before exercise
(-preferably juices) and easily digestible protiens or amino acids after exercise.
