Yeah, I've lived with this all my life. Manic ego highs where I'm out saving the world, everyone wants to know me and I look divine. Paranoid lows where the world might be ending and if it does it will be my fault. These are the extreme ends of the scale but, yeah, life is a rollercoaster.
Only in recent times have I sought more balance and because I feel it would help me become more focused in life, not because I see the rollercoaster ride as a problem. The Buddhist way always hints to me at calmness and moderation so it is arguably the more moral way to go to lessen your mood swings.
Anyway, if it feels like a problem there are lots of simple things you can do to stabilise. Avoid drugs and alcohol. Anything Class A is unwise but I think coffee and cigarettes are pretty bad too because they both give the body a very short buzz and deplete long term energy. Artificial sugars and fatty foods are bad. You want vitamins and nutrients.
But attitude of mind goes so far. The lows, for me, are responses to the highs so the best thing you can do is when you feel 'top of the world' and have enormous confidence, just take it easy and don't get excited. Be calmly happy in yourself and don't let your mind run away with exciting ideas for future projects and plans. Chat happily to others but, again, stay grounded and just be conscious of trying to take life at a slightly slower pace.
If you were to adopt just a few of these measures into your daily routine I think you'd probably find not only that more things tend to go right for you in life and fall smoothly into place but also you would probably begin to sense a far more substantial and meaningful confidence and happiness about who you are.

Yes, every other day...lol... No seriously I know what you mean, although mine does seem to be at least somewhat determined by the things that are happening around me. I really don't know of any good advice as to how to get over the low days, but if you find anything brilliant out there let me know. Best wishes

It is common and not unusual. Everybody goes throught it. At times the day begins with you feeling good about yourself and other days when you are just sad and down. When you are more confident, you tnd to be more active and happy. When you aren't try doing things you are good at. Or just listen to some music and let it pass.

I am normally a very confident individual, but if you are with someone who lacks confidence I think a bit of it rubs off, also if someone keeps telling you you are no good I think that would also bring you down. Stay away from the ones who make you feel down.

I think everybody has this. It's called moods. There may be people who appear to be confident all the time but that is just a front I think.

i do. definitly. somedays i feel sooo strong and then others, i dont even want to be around other people because i feel so insecure. i feel like everything i do is going to insult someone or make them angry or just make them not want to be around me. and all i have to do is say hi.
its a curious thing. i not only feel insecure but i feel lonely no matter how many people i am around.
but, i just keep praying and trying to convince myself that this is my issue and no one elses and eventually that strength comes back. its a viscious cycle though.
hang in there. your strength will be back again soon. i wish i had a solution. you just have to keep on praying. and if you need, find someone to talk to.

Go with the flow. If that's your mood, then that what you are at that moment. There really isn't any other time than right now, this moment, so don't fight it - don't dwell on a past or future thought - just live it!

My understanding of this problems keeps me going to 12 step programs, sometimes they help and sometimes they don't. My confidence gets me in trouble sometimes because for me I get over confident and thus causes problems.
