My moisturizer has SPF 15, as does my powder. I put them both on my face... does this mean my face is covered by SPF 30 protection?

It's not math. Just because you put on two 15 SPF products they do not add up to SPF 30 on the face. They have different ingredients that make them a certain strength.

Nah, its not as simple as that..... if it were so, ten applications of your moisturiser would give you SPF 150! SPF, or TPI, is indicative of a formulation's efficacy at blocking solar(esp. ultraviolet) radiation from reaching your skin. Its to do with the composition, as you can see an exponential rise in price with increasing SPF!

but, i guess, you will definitely have better protection than spf 15 if you use both together...but 30 is a tough ask!

NO, it just means you have even more SPF 15 on your face.

No, but you'll have an awesome insurence policy to protect you and assure that you have the full SPF 15
