"bay" - I know what you mean, but be fair. She asked for an answer -- and we will oblige ! I am not in a position to predict. My knees are trembling !! The four finalists all have one of the other countries between them and the cup. I BELIEVE Portugal could do it. Aside from what critics say, their defence has proved almost impregnable and with their backbone BACK (so to speak) in Costinha and Deco... they are as they have been up to now, DEADLY ! Ask some of the most powerful teams in the world inter alia England, Holland and Mexico. The GERMANS' are renown for their 'efficiency'. They are all about technique. For that reason I called them the Japanese of Europe. The Italians ? Well... beautiful football deadly when they are... but not quite at the moment. They are VERY capable of surprising us . But I doubt that they can do it in July 2006, LOL. The French ? We know their reputation but it is not reputation that's going to win the WC for your country. It is teeth and nails and they have not got them very sharp. The French are FAST, but so are the Portuguese. The French like retaining the ball but it will be just as difficult to get the ball back from the Portuguese after they acquire possession. The French were a lot better in the Euro 2000 and they could not beat Portugal then. It needed a penalty in the LAST TEN SECONDS of that so-important Euro Champ. match to get them through. The air in the POrtugal camp smell of REVENGE to me. I don't think the French can survive Portugal's full strength side (the fact that I am Portuguese has of course nothing to do with my bias, LOL). What I am trying to say in such a short paragraph is the PORTUGAL WILL BE THE NEW UNDISPUTED CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD (somehow I feel as if I am announcing Mohamad Ali as World champion) -- read any website n the Euro Championships and they will all tell you that THE CLASSICAL EURO MATCH was the one in 1984 Between France and... you guessed it PORTUGAL.
YOu could have a French early goal or just as easy, a SUPERB EARLY MANICHE CLASSIC !! NOooo... it willnot go on penalties... it willl be 2-1 for Portugal. If the French dare to score against Portugal they will just get another one in quick succession. So whoever scores first could win the match. -------So I think , with reapect to the French... that THEY ARE DEAD MEAT (I hope I am right !!!!

I think it will be Portugal because I just feel it. My fiance's sister says it's because many of the players are hot. I can't agree with that 'cause I'm a guy, but at least there's more than one reason. My fiance is from and lives in Japan. Just for another perspective. I'm from California.

I really hate France but I think France will win the fifa world cup,because France team play great game by game and I think at the final the France should be winner(but I hate France!)

i agree with ardi, i want portugal to win, but the stupid french people really do play semi-flawlessly. Their defence is freaking amazing.
