whats wrong with wearing white after labor day??

There used to be stronger lines drawn between clothing of a specific season. White was considered to be "summer". Summer unofficially started at Memorial Day and ended at Labor Day.
You would be considered out of "fashion" if you wore the color at the wrong time of the year.
Patent leather shoes were only for springtime years ago, also.

Those rules no longer apply. This is outdated fashion etiquette. Wear what you want when you want, within the boundaries of the law, of course.

Nothing anymore. However there is a difference between white and winter white. Winter white is not as bright
